Jessica Mislevy is an alumnus of the University of Maryland’s Gymkana Troupe, an exhibitional gymnastics team which travels along the East Coast, performing at school assemblies and professional events.
As a part of Gymkana, Jessica choreographed and performed the troupe’s first contortionist act and specialized in sports-acro events like the trampoline. Over the past few years, she has become interested in the aerial arts. She is an intermediate level flyer at the Trapeze School of New York, Baltimore, and has participated in several high-flying performances with TSNY and Club Med circus teams.
Jessica has been studying aerial dance, including the low-flying trapeze, static trapeze, hoop, and silks, since 2005. In the summer of 2006, Jessica performed with Air Dance Bernasconi in “Wings of a Feather” at the Baltimore Theater Project. Jessica applies the form, strength, and technique of competitive gymnastics to her aerial and circus routines.
